All employees and students at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, have been asked to return to work. On Thursday May 26, 2022, the university instructed employees and students to begin the academic activity.

In a statement signed by its Registrar, Kayode Ogunleye, the university issued this decision. The institution is one of the Oyo State Government's tertiary educational institutes. The facility has been around for almost three decades. Resumption is for the continuation of academic activities for the First Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Session, according to the Registrar's announcement.

The restart order follows the Academic Staff Union of Universities' ongoing strike (ASUU). The LAUTECH ASUU has joined the union's current strike. The union had also stated that it would not call off the strike unless its demands were granted. While encouraging staff and students to return, the university also stated that the modified academic schedule for the semester will be available soon.

In the statement, Ogunleye urged the staff and students to follow the instruction. The Management hereby advises all employees and students that the University will resume academic activities for the First Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Session on Thursday, May 26, 2022, as directed by the Visitor to the University. The semester's revised Academic Calendar will be available soon. This instruction is hereby enforced on all staff and students.
