Dramatic Arts, Theatre Arts, And Other Related Courses

Dramatic arts, music, and theatre arts are what makes up performing performing arts are creative actions that are done in  sequences in front of audience. Performing arts is made for entertainment and enlightening purposes as music, drama, and dances are what makes it up.

To make performing art what it is, people will have to learn and master some skills and then display them on an agreed date. This skills have to be taught by professionals in that field. In order to make performing arts success, Theatre Arts, Dramatic Arts, Media Arts, and Music are being taught as courses in tertiary school institution.


Theatre Arts, Music, and Dramatic Arts are courses that aims at teaching students on all that is required to make live performances entertaining and educating. These courses teaches playwriting, acting, set designing, costume designing, music directing, singing, and making lyrics.


Media Arts is still under the same faculty as music, theatre, and dramatic arts as they are under the faculty of arts. Media Arts may seem a little bit different but it's deeply connected to other listed courses mentioned above. Media arts is actually concerned with the creative use of photographs, sounds, light, motion, colour, time, and other elements to portray desired feelings and ideas.


To study these courses in Nigerian tertiary school institutions you are required to go through the secondary school education and graduate with a good SSCE or West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE result whether from West African Examination Council, WAEC or from National Examination Council,NECO. Also, you require a good Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME result. Apart from the results, you will want to know the subjects required in order to study any of these listed courses. It's necessary to know the secondary school subjects that is  connected to the course you want to study for your career sake as they are going to be used to set your exams, and even accept for your admission in to the university, polytechnic, or college of education.

Fine Arts

A trade subject

Civic Education


In UTME, it will depend very much on which of the courses you want to study. Example, if you want to study Music, it will be compulsory for music as a subject to be registered alongside two or three more Arts subjects which should be Literature in English, English, and or, Fine Arts.


The Subjects required with good score in  UTME in order to study any of the above mentioned courses in the tertiary school institution are:

Fine Arts

Music

and Government.
